Water Tower Information
Water Towers are a common scene in rural America and especially in Northern California. This is an area that has always been an agricultural community and people stored their water in towers.  Often the tower would also have a windmill.  Through the years, most have disappeared but with new generations, people are finding they are attractive and functional buildings.  You'll see a variety of them as you browse this web site.

In rural Northern California most people have there own well and are required to provide water storage. Water Towers serve to store  and provide natural water pressure for distribution.   The buildings can be used for agricultural use or residential use.  You can have open framed towers or enclose them in any number of materials.

These towers can be used as a skeletal form to store items in an elevated state.  They can also be enclosed to provide dry storage, offices, residential spaces, lookout towers, agricultural uses or just about anything.   You can add wings off the sides for 1 or multiple stories and customize them to whatever your needs.

Store your water for increased capacity and emergency use.

Water Towers can come in all sizes and shapes. Most are 1 to 4 stories high.  In the area where I live, Mendocino, CA,  most are 2 and 3 story towers.

I have developed sets of Engineering and Architectural Plans for some common designs.  Some of the plans are structural skeletal framework and others are enclosed.  They are capable of supporting water tanks of 2,000 gal.  You can also use them as Lookout Towers, Signs and windmill supports.

You can Pick and Choose the features you want to add to our basic tower designs.  Or, you can select one of the Design & Complete Packages and take advantage of some better pricing than picking components individually.  We can also Custom Design any type of tower.

These plans are far less expensive than you would pay to have them designed by other engineers or architects.  The reason being is that they are already done and assembled to your specifications.  By ordering our standard plans you are getting them for 10-30% of what it would cost you to have them designed by others.  Since most all the plans are already in CAD systems and the calculations on spread sheets, they are relatively easy to modify for most situations.  Each set of plans is customized for your area for wind, seismic, geologic and snow loads. As a result, you can also get the plans fairly rapidly.  Much quicker than starting from scratch.

The 1 story versions are about 12 ft tall, the 2 story versions are about 20 ft. tall, the 3 story versions are about 30 ft. tall and the 4 story versions about 40' tall.  They are 10', 12', 14', 16' or 20'  square at the base.  For more information on the type of plans, see Tower Plans.

We can also do Custom Designed Towers.  Some of these can be very custom and designed to meet any sort of commercial, industrial or residential needs.

All plans are signed by a California Licensed Structural Engineer or Architect.
